In 2017, new WorkSafeBC regulations came into effect where all potential joint health and safety committee members in British Columbia BC must receive 8 hours of JHSC Joint and Health and Safety Committee Certification Training & Instruction. If you became a member of your organization’s joint health and safety committee on or after April 3, 2017, you are required to complete eight hours of training. Any workplace in British Columbia BC with 20 or more employees must have a functioning joint health and safety committee, while those with between 10 and 19 workers must have a designated worker health and safety representative.
